Electrical Inspector - North London - £45.83 per hour (Umbrella)

A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join their robust and professional team of electrical engineers working within the residential social housing sector.
You will play a key role in the cyclical replacement of electrical services across a diverse building stock comprising approximately 2,500 residential blocks and over 35,000 dwellings, including more than 200 high-rise buildings. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team committed to improving safety, compliance, and quality in social housing.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct surveys of low-rise and high-rise residential buildings

* Produce comprehensive Condition Reports and Feasibility Reports

* Carry out site inspections, including:
Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers and attend progress meetings

* Monitoring the progress of electrical works

* Identifying regulatory, health & safety, and specification issues

* Maintaining detailed records of project journeys and findings

* Provide customer care, including resident liaison (occasional out-of-hours work with TOIL)

* Work closely with stakeholders, including Quantity Surveyors and Main Contractors

* Ensure quality standards, including snagging and final inspections

* Support the handover process using the Soft Landings approach to Repairs & Maintenance

Requirements:

* City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification

* IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition

* 5+ years' experience in electrical inspection or a similar role within contracting or consultancy

* Proven knowledge of electrical installations in domestic and communal residential buildings

* Skilled in producing technical reports and condition assessments

* Strong IT literacy and ability to use relevant systems and documentation tools
