An Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school in Nottingham (NG8) are looking to appoint a Head of Physical Education (Female) to join their leadership team from September 2025.

The Role:

This is a unique opportunity to lead a thriving PE department, playing a key role in shaping curriculum design, developing staff, and promoting an inclusive, high-performance sporting culture across the school. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3-5 and will lead a dedicated team to deliver outstanding PE provision in a setting with around 1400 students currently enrolled.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the strategic development and delivery of the PE curriculum
Inspire high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour across the faculty
Support the wider leadership team in raising achievement and school improvement
Champion inclusion, teamwork and physical wellbeing for all pupils
Coach and develop staff through CPD, curriculum innovation and clear leadership
Oversee department budgets, resources and extracurricular programming
Collaborate across the trust to share best practices and shape trust-wide PE provisionWhat we are Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in delivering PE at secondary level
Proven track record of raising achievement and leading teams
Strong understanding of inclusive, student-centred PE curriculum models
Ability to inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds
