With over 110 people, the Employer Consulting team specialises in varying disciplines such as pensions, health & risk, wellbeing, data analytics and employee engagement.

The successful Consultant will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of consultancy services to the client in the relevant areas, advising on the implementation and maintenance of employee benefit plans. An important part of the role is to maintain high levels of client care and client satisfaction. Reporting to the Consulting Lead - Health & Risk, the Consultant may also be required to assist the Client Relationship Manager, Senior Consultants and Service Head in developing existing clients and in the acquisition of new business.  As such, expert knowledge of group risk and private medical insurance is required.

This role will be based in either our Bristol or Cheltenham office (hybrid working, 2 days a week).

Responsibilities

Support with business development activities.

Support with responses to tenders/proposals and pitch presentations as required.

Raise personal profile through thought leadership (via blogs, social media and industry events).

Make presentations to groups of employees, to clients, senior management or for marketing purposes.

Support with development of new and additional services.

Develop specialism, subject, sector and technical knowledge.

Support with the building a network of external product and service providers.

Contribute towards annual Client Plans for each client.

Coach and assist in the development of Benefit Analysts and Client Support.

Assist clients to make informed decisions.

Analyse information and suggest appropriate solutions.

Supporting negotiations with product suppliers to achieve competitive terms for clients.

Day to day client account management.

Drafting, checking and issuing of reports covering technical matters and advice 

Issue invoices monitoring WIP and income receipts.

Maintain records in accordance with internal guidelines and procedures.

Peer review of work prepared by other in the team.

Ensure both own and delegated work is professional, correct and within timescales and budget.

Must ensure work is in accordance with the Barnett Waddingham's internal procedures and with FCA and other regulations.

Support, implement and maintain Information Security procedures and activities in accordance to Barnett Waddingham's Information Security Policy.

Qualifications/Experience

3-5 years experience in and technical knowledge of Private Medical Insurance, Group Risk and associated benefits in a consultancy role is essential.

Excellent client management and the ability to grow own portfolio/be involved in new business opportunities or referrals. 

Able to demonstrate the effective management of large clients / a client portfolio of c£250k-£350k fee income (large clients or a large portfolio).

Experience in wider areas of employee benefits and wellbeing is desirable.

Relevant industry qualification or progress towards, including GR1, IF7, or Certificate in Insurance and/or Certificate in Heath and Protection are desirable.
