Shields Talent are working exclusively with a charity based in Edinburgh that are looking for a Deputy Head of Digital, Data & IT to join their team on an 18-month fixed term contract.

This role supports the department head in the delivery of their ambitious digital transformation project. As they continue their digital, data and technology journey, they're looking for a Deputy Head to lead and support the department.

This includes supporting the delivery of their digital roadmap plans and overseeing the day-to-day operations of their existing digital infrastructure including websites, apps, CRMs and upcoming learning management system.

As well as supporting wider digital activities, the role will work closely with IT and Data teams within the function. Technology and data are critical to the delivery of their ambitious plans, and therefore the Deputy Head should have the knowledge and capability to support all areas of the department.

Salary - £42k - £46k (DOE)

Location - Edinburgh

Work conditions - Hybrid with one day onsite, sometimes more onsite required for important meetings etc

*

36 days holiday (inclusive of public holidays)

* Must have Right to Work in the UK as sponsorship isn't available for this role

Candidate requirements -

*

Experience of delivering a programme of digital, data and/or IT projects to support a wider organisation strategy

*

Educated to degree-level or significant experience in a digital, data and/or IT management role

*

Embedded data-driven decision making within an organisation

*

Experience of managing digital services and products, particularly websites, apps and CRMs

*

Understanding of cybersecurity, GDPR and other regulation & compliance issues

*

Understanding of IT infrastructure including cloud-based systems such as Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS, and awareness of cybersecurity requirements and issues

*

Awareness of current digital, data and IT trends and innovations

*

Line management experience

*

Budget management experience

Candidate responsibilities -

*

Support the team in the implementation of the digital roadmap and ongoing development of specific strategic plans including infrastructure and data

*

Line management responsibilities (2 team members)

*

Contribute to the function's strategic and operational plans (working closely with Data and IT management)

*

Oversee effective resourcing and budgeting across the function

*

Develop an understanding of web and digital requirements across the organisation to support delivery of strategy and digital roadmap

*

Oversee the day-to-day running of websites

*

Proactively identify improvements and innovations across digital products and systems

*

Work with the team to oversee and maintain infrastructure including investigating issues/alerts and managing accounts access

*

Support development of standard operating procedures relating to digital products and ensure cybersecurity standards are met

*

Effective support of colleagues within the function to enable them to support delivery of the roadmap and organisational strategy

*

Effective maintenance and development of our digital systems and platforms
