Domus are delighted to be recruiting for an Interim Head of Operations within a national charity covering services across London, Hertfordshire and Kent. If successful you will be responsible for overseeing 3 direct reports who each manage a patch of approximately 6 services supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs comprised of a mixture of Residential and Supported Living services. You will also be responsible for providing leadership to a Service Improvement Manager who works across all your services and the role will require you to step up to support the Director of Learning Disabilities and Autism when required.   

The is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly established provider at an incredibly exciting time where they are going through a period of expansion and opening some bespoke new services within your area. My client is incredibly ambitious and both quality and outcome focused. There is a chance this role could lead to a permanent position down the line as new services join the patch.

The role will require a full understanding and experience in both quality of care and business operations including HR, marketing and policies and procedures. It's a hands-on role so this individual will need to be strong in development and growth, being influential with relationship building with commissioners and local authorities. Also, this person needs to be confident whilst maintaining a person-centred care/approach.

Key Responsibilities of a Interim Head of Operations:

Work closely with Area Managers, Service Improvement Manager and Directors to develop and apply the strategy for the services.
Identify opportunities for improved performance of the existing services and future developments.
To enhance the profile and credibility of the services by developing positive relationships and partnerships with placing authorities, families and other professionals.
To ensure that Area Manager are providing effective leadership across their patches and through them ensure registered managers meet the requirements of their registration and placing authority requirements.
Ensure that all services are prepared and ready for the regulatory body inspections.
To safeguard all service users and to ensure good safeguarding procedures and principals are in place and applied consistently as per local safeguarding policies.
Contribute and review the assessments and new referrals and when required.
Ensure that all staff effectively manage challenging behaviour, behaviour incidents are reviewed and managed safely and in best interest of the service user.
To effectively implement policies and procedures of the company across your designated area.
Liaise with Managers and staff from other departments to provide a consistent approach to all aspects of service user care.Interim Head of Operations Requirements:

At least five years' experience in a multi-site operational management capacity in a Health and Social care setting
Need to have evidence of managing a large portfolio of services and managing a large staff team, i.e 10+ services.
Have a strong background in working with adults who have a Learning Disabilities, Autism and/or display behaviour that may challenge.
Professional qualification equivalent to degree level or management qualification (QCF Level 5 in Social Care Management or equivalent) or working towards this
Due to the nature of this post, a full and clean UK driving license is essential as is a willingness to travel across the geographical region or elsewhere as required
