Abatec are currently hiring Trainee Machine Operators to join our client's Extrusion Production Team based in Somerset, BS48 area. This is a hands-on role offering stability, support, and the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience in a well-established and growing business.

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for safely running extrusion lines, ensuring consistent output and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. You'll be part of a collaborative production team, working to meet daily targets while following company processes and health and safety guidelines.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:

* Operating and monitoring extrusion machines to shape workpieces to the correct cross-section or profile

* Maintaining product quality by overseeing key parameters such as temperature, pressure, and extrusion speed

* Assisting with general production activities such as assembly, packaging, and machine changeovers

* Minimising material waste and following company protocols for efficient production

* Keeping your work area clean and safe, and maintaining good timekeeping in line with shift expectations

What We're Looking For:

While previous extrusion experience is not essential, we are particularly interested in candidates who have:

* A background in manufacturing, assembly, or machine operation

* A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills

* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks

* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

* Self-motivation and the confidence to use their own initiative
