The successful candidate will be an integral part of the finance team, assisting Revenue Controllers in managing and executing the billing process efficiently. This role is suited to someone with meticulous attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Billing Management: Prepare, edit, and release bills in strict adherence to the firm's procedures, ensuring all bills are accurate, compliant, and processed promptly.
  • Compliance and Coordination: Liaise with Partners, Department Managers, and Fee Earners to ensure all billing activities conform to the firm's standards and specific client arrangements.
  • Documentation and Authorisation: Oversee the proper authorisation and documentation of write-offs.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with fee earners, reinforcing billing procedures and adherence to deadlines.
  • Query Resolution: Address and resolve any billing-related queries efficiently.
  • Data Entry: Perform accurate data input related to billing activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Reporting Support: Assist in the coordination, sorting, and distribution of monthly reports.
  • Electronic Filing: Manage electronic filing activities using the firm's Document Management System.
  • Department Support: Provide backup support to Credit Control and Cash Office as needed.
  • General Duties: Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the finance team.

About the Candidate:

  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience in a law firm environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • System Knowledge: Familiarity with Aderant PMS system is a plus, but training will be provided.
  • Professional Skills: Proactive, assertive, and capable of liaising effectively across all organisational levels.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to assist the finance department flexibly and effectively.
  • Deadline Orientation: Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and meet regulatory requirements specified by Solicitor Accounts Rules.
