Senior Careers and Industry Placement Lead - Location: FE College Group based in Surrey

We are working with an established FE College Group based in Surrey who are seeking a Senior Careers and Industry Placement Lead to provide expert guidance and leadership to their Careers and Industry Placement team. This role is crucial in supporting effective career services and facilitating industry placements across all college provisions, ensuring alignment with national guidance, legislation, and quality benchmarks.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Provide line management, support, and direction to the Careers and Industry Placement team.
- Ensure the tutorial curriculum effectively delivers against the Gatsby benchmarks.
- Conduct placement preparation sessions, career progress tracking, and enrichment activities.
- Develop and maintain a database of employers and a pipeline of placement opportunities for students.
- Oversee the infrastructure for recording industry placements and ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated with national guidance on careers and Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), and communicate these effectively within the college.
- Coordinate all aspects of the student placement journey, from initiation to quality assurance.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, sector bodies, schools, and the local community to promote the college and enhance placement opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the education sector.
- Strong understanding of Gatsby benchmarks and career-related legislation.
- Excellent digital skills, including proficiency in SharePoint, Teams, and Office packages.
- Highly autonomous with the ability to work creatively and develop new opportunities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence across departments.
- Qualifications in Maths & English at GCSE or Level 2 equivalent.
- Willingness to obtain Level 2 qualifications in Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults.
- A qualification in Careers or IAG is desirable.
