A primary special school in Hilsea, supporting children with a range of complex learning needs, primarily Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) is looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant. The school is a place where children are understood, celebrated, and given the tools they need to succeed in school, at home, and beyond.

What You'll Be Doingas a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant:

Support the delivery of a personalised, engaging curriculum.
Help children understand the world around them, including how we are different and alike.
Use visual aids, objects, photos, and symbols to support communication
Lead and assist with hands-on activities that reflect the interests and needs of each child
Encourage social interaction, emotional development, and relationship-building across school life
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and care
We are looking for someone who is:

Creative and willing to adapt learning to different needs
A team player who values collaboration and communication
Genuinely passionate about working with children with special needs
Previous experience in SEN settings is helpful but not essential—what matters most is your attitude and your commitment to helping children thrive.
