Job Description: As a Teaching Assistant and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant in a primary school in the UK, you will play a versatile role in supporting both the general classroom environment and pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. You will assist teachers in delivering high-quality education and provide targeted support to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Assist the teacher with classroom management and lesson preparation.
* Support pupils individually or in small groups with their learning activities.
* Help with the assessment and recording of pupils' progress.
* Prepare and maintain classroom resources and learning materials.
* Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
* Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the needs and abilities of each pupil.
* Monitor and record pupils' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes as required.
* Assist with personal care tasks and mobility support if required.
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to support pupil development.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils by following safeguarding policies and procedures.
