About the Role

Diamond Search Recruitment is representing our client in the search for an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a well-established children’s residential home in Bedford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate leader in children’s residential care who is committed to creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for young people with learning disabilities, autism, trauma and complex needs.

The home supports three young people and has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, child-centred care and achieving excellent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

As Registered Manager, you will oversee the leadership, operational management, and safeguarding of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and full compliance with Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and inspire the residential care team
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the children’s home
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards
  • Promote a trauma-informed, child-centred culture
  • Lead safeguarding practices and prioritise children’s welfare
  • Manage staffing, rotas, recruitment, supervision and development
  • Manage budgets, resources and operational planning
  • Build strong relationships with families, professionals and external agencies
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of care
About You

We are seeking a Registered Manager or strong Deputy Manager ready to step up who is committed to improving outcomes for children in residential care.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in children’s residential care services
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Standards
  • Experience supporting children with learning disabilities, autism, trauma or complex needs
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and safeguarding skills
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Passion for child-centred care and staff development
