Location: Commutable from King's Lynn, Wisbech, Downham Market, Swaffham, Norwich, Fakenham, Spalding, Peterborough, Thetford, Hunstanton, Ely, March, Dereham

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join a well-established and high-performing food manufacturing site. This is a hands-on, critical role within a fast-paced production environment, offering real variety, autonomy, and long-term progression.

You'll be at the heart of site performance-keeping production running safely and efficiently, reducing downtime, and driving engineering improvements across the operation.

The Role

As a key member of the engineering shift team, you will:

* Respond swiftly and effectively to breakdowns, prioritising production-critical equipment
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and address recurring faults
* Fault-find using machine history, drawings, and diagnostic tools
* Work closely with production teams to support safe, smooth, and efficient operations
* Proactively reduce downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives
* Deliver engineering project work as required
* Support wider site engineering activities when needed

About You

Essential

* Apprentice-trained or formally qualified multi-skilled engineer
* Electrically competent with strong mechanical skills
* Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or a fast-paced production environment
* Confident with PLC fault-finding and diagnostics
* Strong understanding of health & safety, compliance, and engineering KPIs
* Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and drive performance improvements
* Calm under pressure with strong communication and prioritisation skills
* A team player with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach

Desirable

* PLC experience beyond fault-finding
* Pneumatics and hydraulics experience
* Welding and fabrication skills
* Boiler operation experience
