Role Overview
Position: Learning Support Assistant
Pay Rate: £15.15 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay), paid weekly
Hours: 08:30 – 16:30 (approx. 7 hours per day)
Working Pattern: Minimum of 4 days per week
Start Date: September (confirmed after onboarding)
Location: Manchester - Work also be available in Wythenshawe, Openshaw & Harpurhey
Mandatory Training
To be eligible for this role, you must complete:
Team Teach – 2 Days

This training will be fully funded by Reed.
Key Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assist learners with integration into classroom and workplace settings
- Work collaboratively with Course Tutors and staff to support student development
- Complete termly reviews and maintain accurate progress records
- Administer medication (following training and procedures)
- Supervise students during breaks and lunch times

The recruitment event will include:
Presentation
College managers will provide an overview of the Learning Support Assistant role and daily expectations.
Group Interview
You will have the opportunity to introduce yourself, discuss your experience, and demonstrate your knowledge of supporting young people and safeguarding.
Written Task
You will complete a short written exercise on the day. The task will be provided beforehand for preparation (optional).
Meet the Reed Team
Ask us any questions about registration, payroll, start dates, or the onboarding process.
After the Event
If you are successful, a Reed consultant will contact you within a few days.
All successful applicants will complete the full registration process and take part in a paid induction day prior to starting in September.
