Reed Practice is recruiting for an Audit Responsible Individual (RI) on behalf of a leading accounting firm based in Southampton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing, full-service firm that partners with ambitious SMEs and entrepreneurs. The firm is known for its high-quality service, collaborative culture, and commitment to helping clients grow and succeed.

As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking a qualified and experienced Audit RI to play a key leadership role in delivering audit services and shaping the future of the audit function.

The Role

As an Audit Responsible Individual (RI), you will:

  • Lead and sign off on audit engagements across a diverse portfolio of SME and small-cap listed clients
  • Provide strategic oversight and technical guidance to audit teams
  • Ensure compliance with audit regulations and internal quality standards
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong, trusted relationships
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth by supporting business development and client acquisition efforts
About You

You are a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) and a registered RI with the ability to sign audit reports. You will also:

  • Have significant experience leading audits across a range of sectors
  • Be confident managing complex client relationships and delivering high-quality service
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards
  • Be passionate about developing people and driving audit quality
  • Thrive in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment
  • Be comfortable working in a hybrid model, with flexibility between office and remote work
