Ribble Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a supportive team working with children and young people in a residential setting.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive difference in young people's lives, supporting them to develop independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

About the Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home while ensuring children receive high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. You will also lead shifts, guide staff members and promote positive outcomes for the young people in your care.

Key Responsibilities

Leading shifts and supporting staff members during day-to-day operations

*

Promoting safeguarding and ensuring children are protected from harm

*

Providing nurturing care that supports emotional wellbeing and development

*

Acting as a Key Worker for allocated young people

*

Supporting care planning and attending professional meetings

*

Encouraging positive behaviour and using de-escalation techniques

*

Maintaining accurate records and reports

*

Supporting children with education, health and daily living skills

*

Working in partnership with professionals including social workers and education providers

*

Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the home

*

Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained

Requirements

Essential

*

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

*

Experience working with children and young people

*

Strong understanding of safeguarding practices

*

Excellent communication and leadership skills

*

Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

*

Previous experience in a senior residential role

*

Knowledge of trauma-informed care

*

Understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards
