Have you recently graduated from university and are considering a career in education? Do you have a strong interest in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs?

Tradewind Recruitment is working in close partnership with a number of mainstream secondary schools across Nottingham who are looking to appoint Graduate Teaching Assistants. These full-time, term-time only roles provide an excellent opportunity to gain paid, school-based experience - ideal for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or youth workers. Many of our placements have led to permanent roles or funded teacher training pathways for the right candidates.

Our client schools are particularly keen to hear from graduates in Psychology, English, Maths, Science, or Humanities - although graduates from all disciplines will be considered.

As a Graduate TA, you can expect a varied and rewarding role. You'll support pupils both in the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions, working closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams. You'll help manage behaviour, build rapport with students, and adapt your support to meet individual learning needs.

Position Details:

Daily Rate: £90-£110 per day (PAYE)

Location: Nottingham

Start Date: ASAP or September

Contract Type: Full-time, long-term with potential for permanent employment

Key Responsibilities:

Support students with SEND across a range of subjects

Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies

Deliver small-group and 1:1 academic interventions

Promote student engagement and wellbeing

Liaise with teachers, SEN staff, and parents/carers

About You:

Recent graduate with a strong interest in education or SEN

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Able to build positive relationships with young people

Committed, reliable, and reflective

Residing in or able to commute to Nottingham
