Battery Service Engineer

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Location: Frimley, you will mainly cover 2 sites, one in Basingstoke and one in Swanley

Hours: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum depending on experience, 25 days holiday (+Bank Holidays) + Company Vehicle + Fuel Card + Overtime

My client is currently recruiting for a Battery Service Engineer to join their business. You need to have worked on motive power batteries. You will need to have some engineering experience and ability to learn and develop.

My client is a rapidly growing independent service provider of forklift batteries, operating nationwide. They supply batteries and chargers, as well as servicing of the equipment to their clients. As a growing company, my client offers an exciting and rewarding career path.

The role
As part of the servicing team, you will be expected to give expert advice to clients, as well as providing electrical repairs and maintenance to batteries and chargers. This will include fault finding and diagnosis, as well as being able to understand wiring diagrams. Examples of responsibilities include:

Testing cells
Replacing cells
Changing connector bolts
Replacing cables
Soldering
Repairing chargers
Topping up cells
Cleaning equipment
Skills/ Experience Required

Ideally, you will have motive power battery experience.
Experience with batteries would be beneficial but not essential.
UK driving license with no more than 6 points.
Ability to communicate with clients.
Ability to manage time effectively.
