Brook Street are working in partnership with HMPPS North East Regional Office in their search an Administrator to join their busy team.

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

£11.44 per hour

The assignment is initially for 3 months - however will be a rolling contract which will most likely be extended.

Job description  

This is a regional job in the centralised listing team which is located at the regional prison offices, based in Forest House, Aykley Heads. The unit deals with listing of Prison to Court Video Links daily. This covers prisons and courts within the North East, Yorkshire, Humber and Cumbria areas. This is a dynamic environment requiring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

The aim of this role is to reduce the number of unnecessary productions at court by maximising the use of Prison Court Video Link (PCVL) slots within prisons. The administration priorities are to get the most out of available capacity, reduce unnecessary physical movement of prisoners, and maximise operational efficiencies. The reduction in productions is due to the challenge process introduced by our Centralised Listing Team (CLT) who will challenge the need for a prisoner appearing at court.

This is a non-operational job.

This is a non operational role which may involve contact with prisoners depending on their area of work.

This role has no line management responsibilities.

Characteristics

Typical tasks associated with this Group Profile include:

  • Maintain an Outlook calendar system for the relevant courts and prisons - ensuring all information is up to date and capacity is utilised to the fullest.
  • Excellent IT skills with experience in use of Microsoft Office - training will be given in specific prison packages.
  • Organise, produce and maintain accurate records for area of work
  • Act as contact point for all communications to the team. Prioritise and distribute communications to the appropriate person or relevant department in establishment
  • Complete monitoring returns for area of work
  • Co-ordinate any awareness sessions for area of work
  • Correspond with relevant stakeholders and agencies to ensure that they are aware of information so that information is adequately shared
  • Maintain and check establishment databases, manual filing systems and logs of information, responding within agreed timescales and producing reports as required
