About the Role

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Stores Supervisor to lead our logistics team and ensure the smooth operation of our inventory, Goods In, and Dispatch functions. This pivotal role is responsible for maintaining high standards in stock control, process accuracy, and team performance. You'll be a hands-on leader who drives operational excellence through clear communication, robust problem-solving, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Objectives

Ensure all stock is accurately located, received, and accounted for in line with company procedures.

*

Oversee the timely and correct issue and dispatch of parts to internal and external customers.

*

Maintain accurate stock records and drive improvements using SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) measures.

*

Deputize for the Logistics Manager as required, ensuring seamless continuity of operations.

*

Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and passion.

Key Responsibilities

Communication & Leadership

*

Lead daily team briefings to communicate performance targets and progress.

*

Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, suppliers, and customers.

*

Escalate issues appropriately and ensure regular updates to the Logistics Manager.

Safety

-Ensure full compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and H&S protocols.

-Work closely with the H&S officer to conduct risk assessments and safety audits.

-Maintain clean, safe, and organized mezzanine and storage areas using 5S principles.

-Investigate and report incidents promptly.

Quality

-Accountable for all stock accuracy across multiple locations.

-Investigate stock discrepancies and customer complaints with timely and professional responses.

-Collaborate with the Purchasing team on overstock and early delivery issues.

-Uphold company quality standards in all operations.

Cost & Productivity

-Monitor and drive team productivity with a target of >100%, continually seeking efficiency improvements.

-Identify and eliminate waste using Lean principles and Value-Added (VA) activities.

-Encourage and track team engagement with cost-saving initiatives.

Delivery & Stock Control

-Develop and implement visual management systems aligned with daily work-to-lists.

-Ensure all parts are received, transacted, and stored promptly and accurately.

-Raise concerns in advance if goods are unavailable prior to dispatch.

-Support timely and accurate order fulfillment and dispatch to customers.

People Management & Development

-Manage team performance using QCD and SQCDP frameworks.

-Recognize and reward strong performance (Switched On initiative).

-Address underperformance through structured coaching and SMART goals (Coaching for Excellence).

-Lead by example in upholding company values and policies.

-Actively engage in the PDR (Performance Development Review) process.

-Support onboarding and ongoing development plans by identifying skill gaps via the Versatility Matrix.

Continuous Improvement

-Drive CI initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and problem-solving projects.

-Engage the team in improvement activities aligned with strategic business goals (e.g. Challenge Zero, Project Charters).

-Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to implement sustainable improvements in people and process performance.
