Job Description

We are seeking a Service Technician to become an integral part of our team!

Kimball Equipment Company - a successful equipment dealership with more than 70 years industry experience is seeking an experienced service tech.

Job Responsibilities

Is responsible for overseeing and repairing our and customers’ equipment at a high level of quality. This individual must supervise their own work as well as those in their department, requiring positive and direct communication with customers and fellow employees.

a) Plan and execute repair of all equipment and systems with a high quality of work that is satisfactory to the customer and is up to company standards. Review customer requests for service to ascertain cause for service request, type of malfunction, and job details.

b) Manage and organize the working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases in repairs. Would also include overseeing service quote development and presentations, review of jobs completed and invoicing.

c) Manage the care of shop tools and special equipment, cleaning and replacing all of them in their proper order. This would include safety meetings and following/developing safety policy & procedures.

d) Manage and maintain field vehicles in a clean and pleasing manner as per DOT guidelines.

e) Communicate with customers in respectful, honest, and clear ways, employing excellent customer service.

e) Coordinate diagnostic inspections of machines, and determine cause of any issue following established guidelines. This would include managing our CAT, Terex telemetrics and Scania programs, updates and training.

f) Provide solutions to match the failures, and create a plan of action for their repair. This would include creating and managing a work schedule to maximize revenue and resources and minimize downtime.

h) Oversee hiring and firing of service technicians.

 

Also,

· Follow all policies and procedures as specified in the company manuals. We are a drug free workplace.

· Maintain high employee morale.

· Maintain excellent customer and employee relations

 

Job Requisites

The individual in this position should be service oriented, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, intelligent, and able to adapt in dealing with customers, suppliers, co-workers.

 

Education/Training/Experience

A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs.

 

General skill requisites

· Able to supervise many projects. Willingness to travel.

· Strong mechanical & diagnostic skills.

· Excellent communications skills. This includes strong computer skills.

· Good, safe work habits. Including the ability to share knowledge and teach other mechanics.

· Must have a clean driving record and CDL preferred.
