Are you confident, resilient, and passionate about helping young people make positive choices? Our forward-thinking secondary school in Newham is looking for a committed and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join the team this September.

This role is essential to maintaining a calm, respectful learning environment across the school - with a key focus on on-call duties and supporting students in the exclusion room.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responding to on-call requests and managing behaviour incidents promptly and professionally.

  • Building strong relationships with students, especially those identified as at risk of exclusion or disengagement.

  • Supporting students who are placed in internal exclusion, ensuring they continue to learn in a structured and supportive environment.

  • Working closely with pastoral teams, Heads of Year and the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Providing mentoring and behaviour interventions to help students regulate their emotions and develop positive habits.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those displaying challenging behaviour.

  • Remain calm, assertive, and consistent under pressure.

  • Be confident in managing difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.

  • Be passionate about inclusion, behaviour support, and student wellbeing.

  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour policies in a school setting.
