This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who have SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, as well as those at risk of exclusion, helping them re-engage with their learning and return to the mainstream classroom.

Role:
As a Behaviour Buddy, you will provide targeted support to students who face emotional, social, and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve working closely with these pupils to help them manage their behaviour, stay engaged in their work, and reintegrate into the classroom setting. You'll be a key figure in ensuring these students have the support they need to succeed academically and socially, while also contributing to their emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH needs, focusing on behaviour management and emotional support.

* Help pupils stay engaged with lessons and learning tasks, offering guidance and encouragement.

* Work closely with teaching staff to develop strategies that will enable students to return to mainstream lessons.

* Assist in the creation of personalised behaviour plans for students at risk of exclusion.

* Build strong relationships with students to help them feel supported and motivated to succeed.

* Monitor and track students' progress, reporting on their emotional and academic development.

* Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring students feel safe and valued.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working with young people, especially those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.

* Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.

* Ability to build rapport and trust with students, encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.

* A passion for helping vulnerable students succeed and thrive in an educational environment.

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

If you're passionate about helping students with SEMH needs and want to play a key role in their educational journey, we would love to hear from you!
