Salary: £19.50 - £22.50 per hour

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced Housing Officer in Liverpool on a full-time, temporary contract for a minimum of 3 months, paying up to £22.50 per hour with hybrid working.

You'll be responsible for a patch of approx 600 general needs properties across your area, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused housing and tenancy management service. You will require a driving licence with access to your own vehicle with valid business insurance.Your new role

  • Carrying out visits to new tenants, completing tenancy audits and exchanges, new tenancy reviews and attending evictions
  • Dealing with relationship breakdowns, unauthorised occupation including subletting, tenancy fraud and failure to allow access
  • Completing assessment of needs for new tenants at low to medium risk of tenancy failure, signposting to external support agencies as appropriate and implementing positive interventions to encourage tenancy sustainment
  • Managing your own caseload of low to medium level anti-social behaviour and other tenancy breach cases including triaging, gathering evidence/witness statements, preparing legal documentation for court proceedings and legal interventions
  • Responding to general enquiries, complaints and praise from customers and local MPs
  • Working in partnership with various external agencies and stakeholders including Local Authority, Police, Benefits Agencies, Social Services, Mental Health teams and others
  • Preparing and serving notices where required
  • Promoting and encouraging resident engagement
  • Property inspections, void control and ensuring compliance with health & safety

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience of delivering housing & tenancy management services across general needs properties including low level ASB management, signups, voids, exchanges and income management
  • Experience of managing own caseload of ASB/tenancy breaches, gathering evidence/taking witness statements, serving notices and preparing legal documentation
  • An understanding of welfare reform and ability to provide basic advice/guidance
  • Good knowledge of housing legislation and best practice
  • Driving licence with access to own vehicle with valid business insurance
