Family Support Worker - Residential Family Services

Have you recently graduated with a degree in Social Work and looking for your first job opportunity as a Family Support Worker?

Have you had experience of working as a Family Support worker whilst on placement with local authorities?

Interviews available immediately for candidates who have recently graduated and looking for a new job opportunity as a Family Support Worker, working in a residential setting this is not a Monday to Friday role and you will be required to work some weekends as the residential setting is operational 24/7, seven days per week.

The Family Support Worker will work directly with the families, assessing and implementing placement plans, in order to promote, strengthen and to develop parenting skills and to promote the welfare of the child at all times. You will require experience of working with young children, babies and their parents with learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

Working with families:
- In line with placement plans, provide families with support on every aspect of daily life, health and well-being to include
- Basic baby care, feeding and eating, sleeping, budgeting, safety, discipline, health eating, healthy lifestyles and choices.
- To participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of individual families` placement and assessment plans.
- To undertake key work sessions as directed by the Case Manager.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with parents and other family members and professionals including GPs, HVs and social workers.
- To ensure that all documentation is completed and that this is evidence based and reflective of the circumstances and issues.

Qualifications:

Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care or Equivalent
Social Work Degree
