About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and analytical Transport Assessor to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and customer-focused passenger transport services.

You will assess eligibility for transport provision, including for individuals with additional needs, and help ensure services are planned and delivered effectively. The role involves working with families, education providers, and transport operators, balancing customer needs with policy and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Assess eligibility for transport services based on policy and individual circumstances

* Communicate decisions clearly to customers, families, and stakeholders

* Maintain accurate records and support data collection

* Manage enquiries and resolve issues professionally

* Assist with transport planning and annual reviews

* Prepare reports and support appeals processes

* Carry out and review risk assessments, including site visits where required

* Work with internal teams and external partners to resolve operational challenges

About You

You are a strong communicator with excellent analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions. You can handle sensitive situations with empathy and remain calm under pressure.

Essential Skills and Experience

* Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

* Strong problem-solving and analytical ability

* Ability to interpret information and produce clear written reports

* Experience working to deadlines and managing workloads

* Confident communication skills, including handling difficult conversations

Desirable

* Experience in transport, logistics, or assessment roles

* Knowledge of risk assessment and health & safety

* Experience supporting individuals with additional needs

Additional Requirements

* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

* Willingness to travel as required
