Experienced Distribution Manager required

We're looking for a hands-on, commercial leader to take full ownership of 250,000 sq. ft. distribution centre near Thetford, ensuring the seamless flow of goods to an expanding network of retail stores and e-commerce customers. This is more than logistics; it's about leading a high-performing team and driving operational excellence across a diverse and dynamic product range.
As Distribution Manager, you will:
* Inspire and lead a dedicated team across inbound, outbound, inventory, and fulfilment operations.
* Oversee distribution of a broad retail product mix—from homeware and horticulture to seasonal lines.
* Champion safety and compliance, ensuring all legal, health & safety, and company standards are met.
* Drive efficiency through continuous improvement, cost control, and process optimisation.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, retail, buying, and e-commerce teams to align stock and staffing needs.
* Manage KPI's and reporting, using data to inform decisions and improve performance.
* Scale operations to meet seasonal peaks, such as gardening season and Christmas.
What You'll Bring:
* Proven experience managing a warehouse or distribution centre (retail/FMCG preferred)
* Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and motivating teams
* Solid understanding of supply chain systems, warehouse tech, and stock control
* Excellent planning, organisational, and multitasking abilities
* Calm under pressure, with empathy, resilience, and integrity
* Confident communicator, able to influence and collaborate at all levels
* Sharp attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
