Cover Supervisor

Prospero Teaching are working with a thriving and friendly standalone secondary academy in the Bournemouth area that is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their dedicated staff team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school where staff welfare is a priority, and high expectations are placed on students and staff alike.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring students continue learning during staff absences by delivering pre-set lessons, maintaining a focused and calm environment, and supporting the wider school team during non-cover periods. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with young people and keen to gain hands-on experience in educationwhether as a long-term career or as a step towards teacher training.

You will be supported by experienced colleagues and welcomed into a nurturing environment where staff development is a key focus. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with prior classroom experience or those seeking a new and meaningful challenge.

Have a passion for supporting and motivating young people
Be confident managing classroom behaviour and keeping pupils on task
Be willing to support with admin, break/lunch duties, and extracurricular activities when not covering lessons
Be a calm, approachable and professional role model
Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Be open to learning and personal developmentExperience, Training and Qualifications:

Degree or relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
Experience working with secondary-aged students (formal or informal)
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (or willingness to complete)Eligibility:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service or be willing to process a new application
