Mechanical Manager - Facilities / Maintenance
Location: South Tyneside
Salary: £45,000 + Company Car / Car Allowance + Benefits
Hours: Full-time, Permanent

The Company:
Our client is a respected facilities management provider delivering hard services across commercial, public sector, and industrial sites. With a focus on compliance, quality, and long-term client relationships, they are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Manager to lead their engineering team in South Tyneside.

The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee the delivery of mechanical services across a portfolio of sites, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and exceptional service. Your focus will be on heating, gas, and associated plant systems, managing both planned and reactive works while leading a skilled engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a team of mechanical and multi-skilled engineers, providing leadership, support, and performance management

*

Oversee gas and heating systems maintenance, repairs, and installations

*

Ensure all works meet statutory compliance, health & safety, and industry regulations

*

Plan and deliver preventative maintenance schedules and reactive works

*

Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery

*

Manage budgets, resources, and stock control for mechanical services

*

Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support for complex jobs

*

Prepare reports, documentation, and compliance records

About You:

*

Background in mechanical services with a focus on gas and heating (commercial experience essential)

*

Relevant gas qualifications (e.g. Commercial Gas Safe) preferred

*

Experience managing a team of engineers in a facilities or maintenance environment

*

Strong organisational and leadership skills

*

Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service standards

*

Excellent client-facing and communication skills
