We'll leave you to decide how best to do this, although we know that you won't be standing on the side-lines holding a clipboard and grimacing.
Instead, you'll be using your naturally inquisitive nature to understand the operational challenges your colleagues face, enabling you to develop practical solutions and provide helpful advice, always delivered in a style that motivates your audience.
We'll encourage you to create communication strategies which resonate and inspire from in-person conversations to video and podcasts.
Here are just some of the activities you'll be getting involved with...
- Managing and executing site inspections
- Advising on and setting operational team safety objectives
- Supporting and undertaking investigations into accidents and incidents
- Contributing to new tenders and bids
- Assessing external environments for safe working
- Identifying any gaps in the H&S management system; recommending improvements
- Developing and implementing new initiatives or sharing best practice with colleagues
- Advising on and communicating new working practices in line with any new legislative requirements or best practice
- Promoting and supporting our behavioural/culture change program - ThinkSafe
- Actively encouraging Safety Observations and Hazard Reporting
We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate…
Exceptional communication skills, originality, and the ability to apply practical health and safety solutions in a clear and effective manner.
Success in this role requires a confident, hands-on approach to advising others, coupled with an innovative mindset when solving H&S challenges. You'll need significant experience in a health and safety advisory position, supported by a strong understanding of current HSE legislation.
Level 6 H&S Diploma is required, along with Certified Member (CertIOSH) or equivalent. Experience within the utilities or gas industry would be highly advantageous.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, field-based role that spans multiple locations, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
