About the Role

Our client, a respected consultancy within the building services engineering sector, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead and manage the full design process — from concept through to detailed design and project completion. You'll play a key role in delivering technically robust, compliant and cost-effective electrical services design solutions for clients across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and deliver electrical design for building services projects, including HV/LV systems, power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and data systems.

* Produce detailed design documentation, load calculations, drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

* Coordinate with mechanical, architectural and structural teams to deliver fully integrated design solutions.

* Use design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and BIM to produce accurate, high-quality design packages.

* Conduct site surveys, attend client and design meetings, and ensure compliance with all relevant UK standards and regulations.

* Provide technical leadership and mentoring for junior engineers, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.

About You

* Degree (BEng/MEng) in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.

* Proven consultancy experience in electrical building services design across commercial, industrial, or mixed-use sectors.

* Strong technical understanding of lighting design, power distribution, earthing, fire alarm systems, and data cabling.

* Skilled in Revit, AutoCAD and general electrical design software.

* Comprehensive knowledge of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and BS standards.

* Excellent communication, project coordination and stakeholder management skills.

* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites when required.
