This position is responsible for implementing operational strategy and leading all Operations, Customer Support, Delivery, Engineering and Administration efforts within the plant and surrounding area. Specifically, the Plant Manager must insure effective teamwork between operations, delivery, logistics, and sales and service. Responsibilities of this position include establishing, implementing, and following effective operational policies and compliance with company standards to ensure continuous improvement related to a balanced metric scorecard approach in the areas of safety, quality, cost, deliver, people and growth within Angelica's operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit and build a high performing operations team, as well as consistently reinforcing teamwork among team members
Build motivation among team members in order to achieve Company financial targets
Lead all Operations, Customer Support, Administrative, Engineering and Delivery employees in the plant or at the customer's location(s) in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Company
Drive results of the strategic business operations plan through continuous improvement and leadership accountability in the following areas: safety, quality, delivery, cost, people and growth
Build, maintain and promote positive relationships with Service and Sales personnel to ensure the highest levels of product quality, service, and customer satisfaction
Research, plan and manage plant costs including linen, labor, utilities, transportation and production supplies, in order to effectively manage company assets within budget while maintaining a highly efficient operation
Monitor and ensure all regulatory compliance requirements impacting operations in coordination with Legal, EHS, and all Federal and State laws
Implement and maintain a predictive and preventative maintenance program
Build positive relationships with all employees including Union representatives
Ensure company development initiatives are carried out to their fullest, including Safety-Work observation, preventative maintenance, lean enterprise principles, Customer for Life meetings, etc.
Manage the Linen Specialists to minimize linen loss through loss point audits, PAR level reviews, and analyzing other customer data
Direct the implementation and administration of systems and processes within the plant to support customer service, accounting, and human resources requirements
The Plant Manager is responsible for supervising Shift Managers, Production Supervisors, Chief Engineers, Office Leads and Clerks, and Linen Managers or Supervisors.
The Plant Manager position requires occasional travel. Employees are responsible for creating and submitting expense reports each week for expenditures incurred during travel.
