Responsibilities and duties of the Commercial Manager role

Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team / Director you will:

Take full commercial responsibility for engineering projects from tender through to completion

Ensure the successful commercial management of all projects

Manage, lead and develop a small commercial team

Liaise with and influence customers and subcontractors

Work closely with internal departments to ensure successful and profitable outcomes

Maintain strong financial control of projects from award through to completion

Prepare and submit contract applications and variations throughout the contract lifecycle

Assess and advise on contract terms and conditions for UK and international contracts

Review and amend contractual terms for mechanical and electrical installation projects

Ensure financial and contractual information is provided in a timely manner to support company accounts and cashflow forecasting

Support the development and training of commercial staff

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Significant experience in commercial management

Proven experience working within a project-led engineering environment

Strong knowledge of contract management and commercial delivery across engineering projects

Experience managing and developing commercial teams

Extensive experience using NEC 3/4 contracts (Options A, C & E)

Personal skills

The Commercial Manager role would suit someone who is:
