Would you like to join a Top 100 accountancy firm, with a well-established accountancy practice based in Wantage! We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant who would be supporting the practice in providing professional accountancy services to a diverse and expanding portfolio of clients!

Enable Futures are operating as an employment business on behalf of its client for a permanent Senior Accountant to work based in Wantage, Oxfordshire for an award winning Firm of Accountants & Tax Advisors. They are experiencing rapid expansion and are able to offer you flexibility and a package to suit. They pride themselves on “going the extra mile”, being pro-active and providing good, quality taxation advice in a timely manner.

The working hours are flexible Full OR Part Time to suit you. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm. The annual salary is Circa £33,000 - £37,000 PA dependant on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Preparation of client accounts and Corporation Tax computation in accordance with current UK financial reporting requirements.

* Review accounts and Corporation Tax computations prepared by junior members of staff, including identifying points to be raised with clients.

* Preparation of Research and Development claims.

* Assist with preparation of VAT returns and personal tax returns where required.

* Monitor job progress and meeting target deadlines.

* Training and liaising with junior team members.

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

* ACA, ACCA, AAT Qualified or qualified by working within a practice.

* Minimum 3 years UK accountancy practice experience in accounts.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and accounts production software.

* Self-motivated, willingness to work efficiently under pressure and able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.

* Ability to work independently and alongside a team.

* Licence and own vehicle, we are based on a business park which is not accessible by bus or train.

Desirable:

* Previous experience of preparing VAT returns and personal tax returns.

* Experience of using a wide range of accounting software products, including Iris, Sage, Quickbooks, Xero and cloud based products.

* Previous experience of preparing Research and Development claims or the willingness to be trained on this.

* Use of electronic working papers and paperless office systems.
