Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a committed and nurturing Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a Year 1 class at a welcoming primary school in Bury. This full-time role begins in January and will continue until the end of the academic year.

The Role:

• Working as a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant within a Year 1 classroom

• Supporting a pupil with ASD to access learning and follow class routines

• Assisting with communication, engagement and emotional regulation

• Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored strategies

• Helping promote a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience supporting children with ASD or additional needs

• A patient, empathetic and consistent approach

• Ability to build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A genuine passion for supporting children's development

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial

• A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

• Right to work in the UK

• Suitable recent references
