This company manufactures, designs, and installs mezzanine floors. They are based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands and are part of a larger group established in 1997, which is a family owned and operated business. Their founding principles and the customer focus approach has made them one of the leading mezzanine manufacturers in Europe. With a philosophy of producing close to their market, they established within the heart of the black country. To support this vision, they are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, purchaser to join their team. Responsible for negotiating not only our long-term contracts but also the day to day consumables. They are looking for a candidate who can grow within the business and in the future take on a more senior management role. Purchasing will come with a target of overall yearly expenditure on main items to decrease by 7.5%. Relationships with suppliers is paramount for a partnership approach to business, and you will be responsible for this. Their project schedule is the spine of how they run as a business, and it will be your responsibility to keep this live. Good communication between you and relevant departments is paramount in keeping the projects within the schedule live and up to date. Responsibilities: - Negotiating new and existing contracts - Day-to-day purchasing of input material like steel, fasteners, chipboard - Growing supply chain relationships to a partnership approach - Reducing current expenditure - Actively managing and steering prices, delivery times, quality and delivery conditions - Finding new suppliers and rating current suppliers - Looking at ways to improve the flow and quality of the business - Proactive coordination with scheduling and logistics - Ensuring availability of material Requirements: - Experience within purchasing and supply chain management - A level qualification as a minimum - Ambition to grow within the business - Good communication, negotiating and customer skills - Independent and responsible attitude - High level of Microsoft Office Salary: - £30,000.00 per year - Company phone - Company Pension
