History Cover Teacher – Grammar School (Medway)

The Role

A high-performing Grammar School in Medway is seeking an enthusiastic History Cover Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis until the end of the term. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong subject knowledge in History who can deliver engaging lessons and maintain a positive learning environment.

You will deliver pre-planned History lessons, manage behaviour effectively, and ensure students remain focused and on track. Minimal planning and no marking are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering pre-prepared History lessons to KS3/KS4 learners
• Maintaining excellent classroom management
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard
• Upholding school policies and expectations

Requirements

• Experience teaching or covering History at secondary level
• Strong subject knowledge and confidence leading a class
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Positive, professional attitude
