Director - Structural Engineering

The Opportunity

We're working in partnership with a respected and growing structural engineering consultancy to appoint a Director to lead the launch of a brand-new Manchester office.

With a successful office in Leeds and a reputation for innovative, high-quality design work across a range of sectors, this is a rare opportunity to build a team, shape a regional strategy, and play a pivotal leadership role in the company's next phase of growth.

This role is perfect for a Chartered Structural Engineer with a strong network in the North West, who's ready to take ownership of a new venture — with full backing from an established consultancy.

The Role

* Lead the setup and strategic direction of the new Manchester office

* Win and deliver a wide range of building structures projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, etc.)

* Recruit and manage a high-performing engineering team

* Build strong relationships with clients, architects, and project partners across the region

* Oversee project delivery, ensuring technical excellence and commercial success

* Collaborate with the Leeds-based leadership team to drive national growth objectives

* Represent the business at industry events and regional forums

What We're Looking For

* Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE or equivalent)

* 10+ years' experience in UK building structures consultancy

* Strong leadership background — ideally with experience setting up or leading a regional office

* Well-connected in the North West property/construction market

* Commercially astute with a track record of winning and delivering projects

* A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with ambition to grow something long-term
