We are currently working with a well-established manufacturing business that is looking to add an experienced CNC Operator / Machinist to their growing team due to continued expansion. This is a great opportunity to join a stable company with a strong reputation in their sector and a clean, organised production environment.

The Role

As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to manufacture aluminium components to a high standard. You will work closely with the production team to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency across the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Elumatec CNC machines (including SBZ 140 series) for cutting, drilling, milling and machining aluminium profiles.

  • Load materials and select the correct tools, cutters and machine parameters.

  • Input, edit and optimise CNC programs based on technical drawings.

  • Carry out first-off inspections before production runs.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation.

  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges and micrometers.

  • Ensure all parts meet the required dimensional and quality standards.

  • Identify any errors or deviations and make necessary adjustments.

  • Carry out routine machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication and basic troubleshooting.

  • Follow company health & safety procedures and maintain a clean working environment.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the CNC industry.

  • Experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical / engineering drawings.

  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

Package
  • Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
