We are looking for an Accountant to join our client's Technical Helpdesk and answer accountancy queries which arise in the network of accountants. Their accountants do not engage to provide audit services, and the client mix is composed of smaller business with more straightforward accounting needs who occasionally need help with accounting and tax queries. As a Technical Manager, you will be a key player in our team, providing expert accounting support to our branches. You will work within a friendly team where they provide a supportive and inclusive work environment. You will also participate in “relationship building” events with existing and potential new branches and there may also be opportunities to become involved in relevant accountancy training for the network.

Responsibilities:

To work as part of the technical helpdesk answering accountancy queries which arise in their network of accountants, providing expert accounting support to the branches. Responsible for:

Responding to accountancy queries raised by franchisees.

Participating in “relationship building” events with existing and potential branches.

Monitoring and updating allocated support site pages.

Supporting the growth of the Group, participating in relevant training and project work for the network as required.

Essential experience and skills required:

Accounting qualification – AAT/ACCA/ICAEW/ICAS (part qualified will be considered for the right candidate) or qualified by experience with at least 5 years’ experience in a practice role

Knowledge and insight around the latest developments in accountancy and a willingness to share this insight

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

An ability to work well as part of a team and to manage own workload effectively according to priorities and deadlines

Confident communicator with strong skills both verbal and written

Able to build trust and rapport by applying tone and appropriate language to deliver range of verbal and written communications

Excellent administration skills. Well organised with a keen eye for detail and accuracy Proficient in Office 365

Ability and confidence to work on own initiative

Excellent team player who enjoys being part of a dynamic and growing team Tactful, diplomatic and trustworthy
