Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a well-established Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the London Borough of Brent to recruit a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), ADHD, and behavioural challenges.
The Role: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students aged 11-16 who require additional behavioural and emotional support in a specialist setting. You will support classroom learning, help implement behaviour management strategies, and build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, many of whom may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.
Key Responsibilities: -
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis

Assisting with classroom routines and learning activities

Implementing tailored behaviour strategies in collaboration with teachers and SENCOs

Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and positive engagement

De-escalating challenging behaviour and modelling positive interactions
Ideal Candidate: -
Experience working with young people with SEMH, ADHD or behavioural needs (school, youth work, care or residential settings all welcome)

Calm, patient and empathetic approach to behaviour support

Training such as Team Teach or other de-escalation methods is desirable (or willingness to complete)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Confident working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
