Careers Lead

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and achieve meaningful futures? Do you have the drive to lead a careers programme that inspires ambition and opens doors for students who cannot access mainstream education?
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Careers Lead to join our team of specialist independent schools. Our schools support students aged 11–19 who face significant challenges in their educational journey, including those with EHCPs or at risk of exclusion. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, stimulating, and structured environment where every student is valued and supported.
About the Role
As Careers Lead, you will design and deliver a careers education programme tailored to the unique needs of our students. You’ll work closely with staff, families, and external partners to ensure every young person receives the guidance and opportunities they need to succeed in further education, training, or employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a careers strategy aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks
- Build relationships with local employers, colleges, and training providers
- Organise work experience, careers fairs, and employer engagement activities
- Provide personalised careers guidance and support for students with EHCPs
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of careers provision across all school sites
- Collaborate with teaching and pastoral teams to embed careers into the curriculum
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in careers education, guidance, or a related field
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEND or SEMH needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of statutory careers guidance and the Gatsby Benchmarks
- A Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification (or willingness to work towards it) is desirable
- A commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centred practice
