We're recruiting a Chef for a residential care home near Exeter in Newton Abbot, run by the Ministry of Defence. This role involves preparing meals for around 100 residents and offers a stable, rewarding position within a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

As a Chef, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals for around 100 residents:

• Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals tailored to residents' needs
• Cater for special diets, including modified textures in line with IDDSI guidelines
• Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
• Manage stock, ordering, and kitchen budgets effectively
• Work closely with care teams to meet individual preferences
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure compliance with all regulations

What we're looking for:

We're looking for a reliable and compassionate Chef who brings:

• Experience in catering, ideally within a care or healthcare setting
• Good understanding of nutrition, particularly for elderly residents
• Knowledge of special diets, including allergies and IDDSI standards
• Strong food hygiene and safety knowledge (HACCP)
• Ability to plan menus and manage budgets efficiently
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A caring, resident-focused approach
• Confidence in supervising and supporting a team
• Enhanced DBS (completed by the client)
