We are a world leading provider of technologically advanced equipment for radar, EW, communications, EMC testing, scientific and medical applications.

Over the last 5 years our sales have doubled, and we are on track to continue at this rate. A key factor which has enabled the company to maintain this growth is that our customers continue to work with us, especially because of the high level of support we provide to ensure the products we supply meet the expected performance and reliability criteria.

Due to our ongoing growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, who will provide a design service using NX modelling software or equivalents and finite element packages.

Responsibilities:

To evaluate design requirements and advise project engineers on mechanical engineering aspects of new and modified designs.

To analyse and resolve tolerance issues on mechanical, braze and weld joints, interface, drawing and procedural problems on products as required.

To develop mechanical structures and assemblies with full consideration of component tolerances to ensure consistent manufacture.

To investigate and solve mechanical production problems concerning jigs, tooling and production techniques.

To assist with providing works cost estimates for development of new products from a mechanical design perspective

Provide mechanical design solutions against agreed timescales and budget

Contribute and implement process improvements to ensure

Responsible for maintaining and supporting all mechanical CAD data and Bills of Materials for all current Tube group products

To liaise with Quality Assurance on the resolution of problems during inspection stages.

To undertake design changes in accordance with company system.

To update drawings, Bills of Materials, MRP, MRI and other relevant documentation as required.

To ensure that configuration control practices are maintained, in line with the appropriate standards.
