Applications Engineer

The Opportunity:
A superb opportunity to work in a beautiful part of the country, for a global manufacturer of precision engineered metal parts.  As part of the Application Engineering team, your role will be to provide a high standard of technical customer service and support for both existing designs and new projects, with active involvement from prototype design to full production.
 
Job Responsibilities:

To produce high tolerance engineering designs, drawings and analysis using software, including the completion of theoretical studies and predictive work
To carry out technical visits to customers and end users in the UK and overseas, providing advice on tribology related issues and analytical information on bearing performance
To provide technical support to our sales teams
To produce technical reports
To contribute to the resolution of technical problems and to the development of resources including materials and software
To participate in project work of a varied naturePreferred Skills:

Experience of working in a similar role: either as a Design and Development Engineer or an Applications Engineer, but involving customer interaction.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The job holder will be required to demonstrate the ability to communicate confidently and clearly.
A high standard of numeracy and literacy, and the ability to analyse information in a range of formats.Personal Attributes:
Engineering related qualification at City & Guilds level or equivalent
