Field Engineer - Welding & NDT (Hinkley Point C Project)

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Contract length: Rolling 12 month contract

Rate: £560 per day Umbrella

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer with a strong background in welding inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) to support quality assurance efforts on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects - Hinkley Point C (HPC).

As a key player in our site operations, you'll ensure all construction activities involving welding and pressure systems meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Your Responsibilities

Oversee welding and NDT-related activities to ensure alignment with safety, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and mitigate quality issues to support timely project delivery.
Review Quality Control Plans and Inspection Records.
Submit and manage Non-Conformance Reports.
Evaluate contractor performance and adherence to standards.
Contribute to site-wide health, safety, and environmental goals.
Ensure accurate documentation in line with regulatory and quality requirements.

What We're Looking For

CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector qualification (or equivalent).
Qualifications in multiple NDT methods (current or previous).
Solid experience in fabrication and installation of pressure systems and structural steel.
Knowledge of British/European standards and design codes including RCC-M and BS EN.
Strong track record in QA/QC with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Highly organised with strong communication and delegation abilities.
