Reed are working with a reputable College in Birmingham and are seeking an Electrical Installation Lecturer on a temporary ongoing basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about electrical education, ready to engage in both practical and theoretical teaching across various programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of Electrical Programmes, including C&G 7202 Level 1, C&G 2365/8202 Levels 2 & 3, Apprenticeship Standard C&G (5357), and industry-related courses like 2391 Inspection and Testing and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Plan and manage learning programmes, involving curriculum development and regular review meetings.
- Manage and track student learning programmes, including administering all related paperwork, monitoring targets, and arranging additional support where required.
- Act as a course leader, providing learners with academic support and meeting their vocational and educational needs.
- Carry out assessments, assign homework, and provide timely feedback on the learning experience.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of student and course registers, addressing poor student attendance and setting targets.
- Liaise with parents/guardians, schools, and other organisations regarding attendance and achievements.
- Maintain high-quality student progress records, including monitoring of targets and Individual Learning Plans.
- Manage classroom activities, monitor attendance, punctuality, and student behaviour.
- Comply with internal and external quality standards, including Internal Verification and External Verification.
- Contribute to enrichment programmes, work placements, and educational visits to enhance the learning experience.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Certificate in Education, PGCE, DTLLS, PTLLS or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Level 3 or Advanced Craft Certificate in the relevant trade area or 5 years relevant industry experience.
- Experience of teaching up to and including Level 3.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrable presentation skills.
- Experience working successfully as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Registered with the relevant professional body applicable to the role (desirable).
- TAQA Assessor and IQA qualifications (desirable).
