To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to take full ownership of our distribution operations and fleet management.

The Role

As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective movement of goods from our manufacturing facility to customers nationwide. You will oversee all aspects of transport planning, fleet maintenance, driver management, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

As the Transport Manager you will lead and manage all daily transport and distribution activities to ensure timely and accurate deliveries

*

Oversee the company fleet, including maintenance schedules, vehicle compliance, inspections, and replacement planning

*

Manage driver performance, training, rota planning, and adherence to legal requirements

*

As the Transport Manager you will optimise delivery routes, vehicle utilisation, and operational efficiency

*

Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, including DVSA, tachograph, and Working Time Directive requirements

*

Work closely with production, customer service, and commercial teams to maintain high service levels

*

Monitor KPIs, costs, and performance data to drive continuous improvement

*

Manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and service providers

*

Lead health & safety best practice across all transport operations

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a Transport Manager or Senior Transport Supervisor role

*

Strong understanding of fleet management and UK transport legislation

*

Experience in manufacturing, construction products, or multi‑drop distribution desirable.

We need a Transport Manager with excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills

Confident leader with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset
