We are recruiting on behalf of a global healthcare organisation, who's UK business has seen huge growth over the past few years. This is an exciting time to join the business, with a wealth of opportunities. The position of Data Privacy Manager will the support policy development, providing training and monitoring, risk assessment, advising the business on compliance matters and issue remediation.

This position requires a high level of responsibility and autonomy so we are looking for someone working at this level, or who is ready to take a step up. We can reflect the salary based on experience.

This role would be suitable for anyone working in legal, privacy programmes or data protection.

Key responsibilities:

Review and revision of privacy compliance policies to ensure they remain current with the industry trends and legal framework.
Provision of guidance and support on strategic projects and initiatives to the commercial teams to ensure compliance with local policies, trade association codes, legislation, and corporate and affiliate ethical standards and local law.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable European, and local privacy laws, regulations and best practices, and monitor advancements and changes to ensure organisational compliance.
Work with the legal and all business units as well as the Divisional and regional privacy teams to ensure both existing and new products, devices and services comply with privacy and data security obligations.

Development and delivery of regular training sessions and communications regarding privacy compliance topics (e.g., on-boarding for new employees, policy training, ad-hoc training on compliance risk)Key requirements:

Experience in legal, data or privacy
Understanding of information infrastructure, security systems and technology
Demonstrable communication skills engaging individuals at all levels
Experience in privacy training and raising awareness around data protection and privacy
Professional qualification such as the IAPP CIPP/E or CIPP/M
Shows accountability and demonstrates ownership of their world
Ability to work independently, show initiative and be a self-starter
Resilient manner, capable of working in a fast moving and busy environmentPreferred:

Law degree
Experience of at least 5 years on Data Protection Laws
Experience in the life sciences and/or medical technology sector
Previous experience managing a privacy programme
