Kenny Recruit are working with a fast-growing, nationwide property business who have an ambitious vision and a strong track record of delivering high-quality accommodation across the UK to find a Group Financial Controller. As our client continue their growth journey, we are looking to strengthen their finance function with the appointment of a talented and driven Group Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in our strategic and operational success.
The Group Financial Controller will oversee the operational finance and accounting activities across the group. Reporting into the Finance Director you will be responsible for ensuring financial compliance, robust controls, and timely, accurate reporting across a complex, multi-entity structure whilst overseeing a team of three.
The successful candidate will bring a strong technical accounting background, be highly organised, and possess experience in managing intercompany transactions, multi-entity reporting, and high transaction volumes. Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
- Pay: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum (dependent on experience) discretionary bonus
- Location: Hackney - 5 days in the office required.
- Working hours: 9:00am - 6.00pm
Key Responsibilities:
Working across the group, leading the operational finance and accounting elements of the business in more detail:
- Full responsibility for a consistent month-end close so figures are accurate, up to date and available to support modelling, reporting and decision making.
- Preparing quarter and year end reconciliations, working papers and documentation to support the timely submission of annual accounts and tax returns, as well as audit enquiries.
- Enhancing processes on NetSuite so it supports operational efficiency and a strong control environment.
- Building strong relationships both internally and externally so you are the trusted business partner for all things finance. Ability to understand the entire business and work with others to gather information for timely financial reporting.
- Mentoring and coaching direct reports so they gain better understanding of their role and develop the skills they need to excel.
- Championing change within the finance function, be it in the form of new software/tools, new processes, accounting policies or division of labour. Gaining buy-in from all relevant stakeholders and implementing thoroughly.
- Implementing robust processes and ensuring a controlled, governed, efficient and sustainable infrastructure is always in place. This includes clearly documenting processes to support understanding and business continuity.
- Other ad-hoc tasks to support wider finance and business initiatives.
Requirements:
- ACA, ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of various IT systems and the ability to use, assess and implement them
- Proven experience in financial management and reporting, including financial statements
- Excellent knowledge of finance processes and procedures
- Ability to lead, manage and develop a team of finance professionals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in property management is a plus
- Experience using NetSuite is highly desirable
