Leader Education are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work within a specialist SEN provision in Bedlington.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a structured and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning plans
Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting)
A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) desirable but not essential
